Talking Boudoir with Tom Dunne on Newstalk 106-108

Tom Dunne from Newstalk 106-108 FM radio called me to talk Boudoir.

Last week I sent an email to the Tom Dunne show on Newstalk.ie.  Tom was interviewing Marie Garvey about a naked dip “Dip in the Nip” in the ocean for charity that is coming up in the next few weeks in Connemara.
Dip in the Nip is a charity event to help raise money for Cancer research.I love their tag line “Dare to Bare to fight cancer.” Basically you strip to your birthday suit and have a dip in the sea to raise funds for cancer! Marie was telling Tom how people, especially women feel empowered and liberated when they take part in this event.
After hearing this interview I wanted to share my thoughts on how my Boudoir clients feel after their photo shoot.I started to think about all my Boudoir clients and the testimonials I have received. The common denominator is that women feel empowered when they leave my studio after their Boudoir session. I shared this in an email to to the Tom Dunne show.
I told the story of journalist Bernie Ni Fhlaherta of the Connacht Tribune  when she came to us for a session. She wrote that she felt “10 feet tall” after her Boudoir Session. So what is it about baring our bodies that makes us feel empowered, elated and 10 feet tall? I would love for you to share your thoughts in the comment box below and let me know why you think stripping off is good for our confidence.
On Monday the Newstalk team rang me for a chat with Tom Dunne to discuss Boudoir and the feel good factor.
Have a listen to Tom and I talk Boudoir on  Newstalk here. Monday Part one.

P.S. I also let Tom know about our Dudoir Sessions…He seemed very interested-Watch this space!

The Art of making women look the picture of sensuality.

That was the headline following  our Boudoir Session with Connacht Tribune journalist Bernie Ni Fhlaherta. The whole front page of the Lifestyle section ! It was a thrill to have Bernie and Eibhlín Ní Chonghaile from RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta who interviewed Bernie during her Boudoir Session at my studio in Barna.

Bernie is brave enough….so you can be too

Connacht Rugby Calendar for 2012

Well it has been a really busy couple of months.Between our Boudoir Sessions and our variety of studio photo shoots from Makeovers, Portraits, and a ton of PR gigs we had the honour of shooting the Connacht Rugby calendar for he second year in a row! Yes ladies the boys…..I mean MEN are gorgeous! But of course I don’t notice this when I am getting them into makeup and planning my next shot. Yes I said Makeup! There are a few bumps and bruises that need fixing ever before I point my camera at them. Yes even men have dark circles and puffy eyes! (good to know huh?) But we are quick to point out it’s MANscara and GUYliner that we use.Only the most macho of products…of course.

The Calendar is a charity endeavour at heart for Cope Galway.
Now for a little bit about Cope:
COPE Galway is a local Galway charity that provides services to those isolated in our community – including sustenance and social supports for older people, a refuge for women and children affected by domestic violence and accommodation for men and women experiencing homelessness.

You see it’s all worth while work! Here is a link to purchase a calendar from their website: BuyCalendarHere
You can pretend to buy one for your guy….and have a photograph of sexy men hanging in your kitchen all year round…month after month…

That press release photo above is not one of my favourites but it tells the story.Fintan Maher from Cope Galway on the left…me…and one of my favourite guys on the Connacht Rugby team,  Michael “Swifty” Swift. I knew I should have worn something else but did I listen to myself….:0

Thomas Sabo Thank you bracelet from Wedding Clients A & P

It’s a while since I’ve  posted- having been quite busy creating new websites, shop and doing a variety of photoshoots.
But I had to stop everything and post this Thank You for a Thank you!
I photographed A& P’s wedding some time ago and on collection of their albums ‘A’ handed me a thank you card and gift.
A Thomas Sabo charm bracelet no less! They were so thoroughly happy with their wedding pictures and wanted to gift me for all the fun they had when I photographed their wedding.Well the feeling was mutual! We started at A’s house and then I hunted down the groom- he was running late and I began to worry and had to hold back the bridal party! I was sweatin’ bullets! After we photographed the ceremony we, ‘A’,'P’ and I, headed for the beach with a bottle of champagne to take portraits and a respite from the crowd. After, we headed to the Glenloe Abbey Hotel to meet up with the party and take some impromptu photos and a few more portraits. It was all fun and let me tell you they Rocked the Abbey! Now to start collecting charms!
I will post some photos from the day after my new website is published.I just didn’t want to waste anytime thanking A&P for the Thank You gift!
